EFS Interview with Dublin Creative Review

Rouzbeh Rashidi and I were interviewed by Sebastian Stephenson from Dublin Creative Review. We discussed ideas behind Experimental Film Society, approaches to filmmaking, Rashidi's upcoming feature TRAILERS and my upcoming Cloud of Skin premiere at the 60th Cork Film Festival. I'm rather obviously muttering and snuffling through a heavy cold but if that doesn't put you off, you can listen to the interview here:

Cloud of Skin

Deeply haunted by the memory of his dead lover, a man wanders through the sites of their encounters. The dead woman, a blind visionary, has transferred her perceptual powers to him as part of their undying bond. Rather than unfolding as a traditional narrative, experimental filmmaker Maximilian Le Cain’s first feature takes the form of a visually and sonically immersive fever dream. Composer Karen Power’s intense soundscapes complete this mysterious and unusual cinematic experience.

a film by Maximilian Le Cain with sound by Karen Power
starring Dean Kavanagh, Eadaoin O'Donohgue & Siannon O'Neill
executive producers: Esperanza Collado, Fergus Daly, Michael Higgins, Vicky Langan, Gianluca Pulsoni
produced by Rouzbeh Rashidi, Dean Kavanagh & Maximilian Le Cain

Much saddened to hear of the passing of Java, an exceptional feline character who gave a memorable supporting performance in Brine Twice Daily.

A Few Thoughts...

Esperanza Collado's text Things Said Once and my ramblings A Few Thoughts on the Moving Image were both conceived for presentation and publication in Tehran as part of the recent Experimental Film Society events there. As well as being published and printed by Lajevardi Foundation, Esperanza also presented Things Once Said as a performative talk in Lajevardi gallery, Tehran. Unfortunately I was unable to join my EFS colleagues in Tehran, and subsequently my text was omitted from print there. However it is now available on EFS Publications and Things Once Said has since been published in La Furia Umana, thanks to Toni D'Angela.
