The Most Beautiful Cinemas in Ireland

Images from a memorable visit with Dean Kavanagh and Anja Mahler to the most beautiful cinemas in Ireland: Roy Spence's Excelsior and Noel Spence's Tudor. These private cinemas have been lovingly hand crafted in the image of '50s picture palaces. While there, we were privileged to delve deep into Roy Spence's filmography and watch many titles from his five decades of resolutely independent filmmaking. His horror and science fiction movies were particularly inspiring, including short masterpieces such as The Testament of Caleb Meeke (1969), The Beast of Druid's Hill (1971) and Homunculus (1977).
